The damage so far
The bikes the tourists ride ary shitty, even by Vietnamese standards. But they sport simple technology, so most of the time they keep running. And if they don't, every single Vietnamese can repair your bike for you, a cheap sparepart is never far away so you'll be on your way again before the villagers can get you drunk on ricewine.
